Who we are?
Stretford ASC is a friendly and welcoming community club based at Stretford Sports Village (Chester Centre). Founded in 1888, the club has always offered the three disciplines of swimming, lifesaving and water polo to the community. We have nurtured Paralympians in swimming, and a number of our water polo players have represented the national team. Our overriding aim is to provide a teaching/coaching schedule to offer swimmers good knowledge and practise of all strokes. Within our swimming development pathway, there is provision for gifted and dedicated swimmers to improve and excel in competition, with links established with City of Manchester Swim Team (COMAST).
Opportunities
Stretford ASC is run by volunteers and we are always interested in hearing from people who are able to lend a hand. You might have some specific skills – such as marketing, fundraising or accounting – or be able to help out at poolside during galas, or staffing the club’s reception desk. Committee opportunities arise annually at the AGM. If you’re interested in helping more with teaching/coaching, we can arrange financial support and a volunteer placement for Level 1 and Level 2 coaching opportunities. If you are able to help, please come to the club reception desk, or email stretfordasc@gmail.com
