Masters

Who are the Masters?

The Masters group at Stretford is a friendly and inclusive group of swimmers aged over 18. We are coached in our weekly session to improve and develop all strokes and gain fitness while having a lot of fun. We welcome para-swimmers and celebrate diversity, firmly believing that swimming is for everyone in our local community.

The group is split into different abilities, ranging from people who want to enjoy casual fitness swimming to those who want to train for competitions. How far you go is up to you!

Come along for a trial session and meet the Masters!

Here’s what some of the swimmers say:

“I find the sessions a positive challenge, and that has really pushed my swimming ability and confidence. I also think it’s a friendly group, which makes it social and fun. Great coaches too, who have the right balance of patience and push.”

“I never thought I’d love swimming so much – everyone is really friendly and relaxed and the coaches give great advice on technique.”

“I was a club swimmer when I was younger but had quite a few years away from swimming. I joined the Masters to support my training for triathlons and open water events, and it’s a great way to meet like-minded people.”

“The sessions push me to do more than I would when I swim by myself. I spend time learning strokes that I would normally avoid. The coaches are great at spotting problems and giving tips to fix them. At the end of each session, I feel energised, having put in a good workout.”
